julian lindsay
Born in Boston, MA to a violinist and a director-producer, Julian was a star running back in high school until his athletic career was cut short by a concussion. Drawn to sports throughout his adolescence going into his collegiate career first at Lincoln and then Temple University, Julian participated in boxing, weightlifting, and track and field, to name a few.
While pursuing a degree in media arts, Julian began to start taking fitness seriously. He ran a TV show on a local Philly station called Community Enrichment Fitness Network where he produced and edited video segments on a diet, exercise, and how to live a healthier life. He also worked for a back and neck specialist in Bala Cynwyd, PA, where he assisted with patients and writing medical scripts.
This led him to start bodybuilding at the gym. He continued to educate himself on how to get fit and started fielding questions from other gym-goers on how they, too, could achieve physical mastery. So many people interrupted his workouts that eventually a fitness trainer took him aside and told him that he should stop giving out free advice and start getting paid for it. Julian took heed and got his NFPT and TRX training certificates, and furthermore went on to complete education in Deep tissue, Swedish, Trigger Point, Sports, Prenatal, Lymphatic Massage and other various massage modalities.
Julian’s fitness philosophy is to start with the mental and let that percolate to the physical. Julian believes in a balance of lengthening and strengthening work and has cultivated his knowledge to be able to help individuals and working professionals both find rejuvenation in movement away from their desks and take care to prevent or heal weekend warrior injuries. He also places heavy emphasis on relaxation of the mind to the body and often helps each client get to the root of- “why are doing what you're doing?” From there a healthy plan is devised that’s appropriate and followed through for each client.
